Arts/Culture

Thanks to help from generous local sponsors and organizations, between 2008 and 2011, “arts and culture appreciation” included the following activities (and many more):

trips to the Stanley Park Rose Gardens, Van Dusen Gardens, and the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Chinese Gardens;

tickets to the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Museum of Anthropology, the Vancouver International Film Festival, the Vancouver International Writers & Readers Festival, the Vancouver International Storytelling Festival, the Cultch, various movies, restaurants, and community events,

and the opportunity to meet with (and learn from) local writers, internationally-acclaimed ones, musicians, and poets.

Intrepid Pens also hosted several fundraising and “open-mic” events, and was invited to share their work at fundraising and “open-mic” events throughout the city.
